The short answer

MapFirms uses Overture Maps open data and official company registers for discovery, and company websites for published contact details. Coverage and freshness vary by source and region.

1. Open place data helps you discover companies

Overture Maps provides open geographic data, including places. A place record can help identify a business and its location; it is not proof that the company is currently trading or interested in your offer. See the Overture Places documentation.

2. Registers add a different view

Official company registers describe legal entities. Available fields and access differ between countries. A registered office can differ from the shop, factory or branch you want to contact. Compare the legal identity with the actual trading website.

3. Websites provide published contact channels

MapFirms reads contact details that companies publish on their own websites and retains source information. A published email address is not a deliverability guarantee or permission for any kind of outreach. Check the page context and use an appropriate channel.

4. Resolve conflicting or missing details

Prefer the company's current contact page for operational details, and the relevant register for legal identity. Note discrepancies instead of guessing. If a search returns few results, review the sector term, region and source coverage. An unlimited software quota does not mean unlimited source data. Start a focused search.
