Company discovery
Find B2B companies by industry and location
A practical workflow for finding potential business customers by sector and location, then checking whether each company fits your offer.
Start with one customer type and one region. Use company discovery to create a shortlist, check each firm's website, then prioritize relevant prospects before making contact.
1. Define a company you could actually serve
Write down what the company does, where it operates and why it might need your product. For example, a packaging supplier could start with food manufacturers in one region. This is a research example, not a promise that every company found buys packaging.
2. Search a focused market
In MapFirms, choose a sector and a country or region. Use city or radius search when appropriate. Try the local term and a close synonym in separate searches. A narrow first search makes it easier to judge relevance than a worldwide list.
3. Qualify the results
Read the company's activity, address and website. A similar name is not enough: a wholesaler and a manufacturer can have very different needs. Check the source and remove irrelevant records before spending time collecting more contacts.
4. Plan the next action
Use filters and lead priority to choose which records to review first. Save a note explaining the fit and a follow-up date. Lead scores help you organize work; they do not prove purchase intent. Export your shortlist when you need a spreadsheet.
